Candace Wasson, age 69, of Longmont, Colorado passed peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on Friday July 31, 2026, after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for 14 years. Surviving multiple surgeries and countless chemotherapy and radiation and stayed strong and never giving in. Through all this she maintained a smile and positive outlook on life.
Candace was born in Redding, California on July 15, 1957, to Caesar and Sybil Rogers. Candace retired from IBM in Boulder, Colorado. She grew up in the bay area of California having so many close friends and family that she stayed in contact with on a daily basis. Everyone loved Candace; her quick wit and smile was only matched by her loving personality.
Candace loved gardening, camping, traveling and most of all, spending time with her six grandchildren. She spoiled them non-stop and had a special bond with each of them. The love between her and the grandchildren was unbelievable to watch. She looked for every opportunity to take the grandchildren on adventures. Her one wish was to do tea at the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver which she did before her passing.
Candace was a military veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force supporting our National Defense Ballistic Missile Systems at Vandenburg Air Force Base.
Candace is survived by her husband, Mike of Longmont, CO, son Michael (Katie) of Colorado Springs, daughter Brianne (Geoff) of Erie, CO, daughter Deanna (Kevin) of Erie, CO and grandchildren, Sebastian, Delilah, Ophelia, Evelyn, Sloane of Erie, CO and Charlotte of Colorado Springs, CO.
