Carl Raymond Byers

Carl is survived by his sister (Rita Trumbo), his sons (J.B., Mike, and Bill), his daughter (Cherilyn), his wife (Donna), his grandchildren (Travis, Timothy, Lily, Shane, Delany and Madison), and great-grandson (T.J.), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carl is proceeded in death by his brother (Roger), his mother (Darleene Byers), his father and step-mother (Raymond & Marge Stigge), and his wife (Sylvia Byers).

Carl was the oldest of three children. Growing up in the Boulder, Colorado area, they all spent much of their childhood working on the family farm. Upon graduating from Fairview High School in Boulder, Carl married his High School Sweetheart before leaving for Vietnam. He met his son (JB) while on leave in Hawaii. The following years saw sons Mike and Bill and the adoption of Cherilyn to complete the family.

After returning from Vietnam, Carl began a 40-year long career with Public Service Company of Colorado, retiring in 2010.

Carl was active with Bethel United Methodist Church, the Old Stone Congregational Church, the Elks Club, 4-H, the Boulder County Fair, and the CSU Cooperative Extension, just to name a few.

Carl remarried in 2021 to Donna Byers and moved from Lyons, Colorado to Wiggins, Colorado.

Faith and Family were always the most important things in Carl’s life.

Carl Raymond Byers took his final steps in his journey on February 4, 2025, at his home in Wiggins, Colorado, surrounded by loved ones.

A celebration of life for Carl will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. Following the celebration of life will be a reception at 12:00 PM at the Elks Lodge of Longmont, 306 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501.
