Carmen Louise Gould passed away peacefully at her home on December 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 20, 1931 in Lenora, Kansas, to Clyde Allen and Alta Joyce Clear. Carmen’s life was marked by love for God, service to family, hospitality in her home, and commitment to prayer.
She spent her early years with her brother, Dale, and sister, Beverly, first in Hoxie, Kansas, before her family eventually settled in Colorado. After several moves, the family made their home in Erie. On January 8, 1949, she married Frank Ray Gould by a justice of the peace in Boulder, marking the start of a devoted partnership that would last nearly 58 years. Together, they established their home in Niwot, Colorado, where Carmen lived for 76 years.
Carmen was committed and passionate about her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved serving her family in her home and around her kitchen table. She was employed part-time cleaning a few homes in Longmont, most notably the home of Dr. Cavanaugh where she served for decades. While Carmen ran her home on a very conservative budget, she was most extravagant in her gift giving to her children and grandchildren. Both she and Frank were faithful in their generosity with their finances.
A woman of unwavering faith, Carmen accepted Christ as her Savior on April 12, 1966, alongside Frank, Gary, and Pat. She was known for her dedication to reading God’s Word and sharing the message of salvation boldly proclaiming it’s not of works but by faith alone. Carmen faithfully attended Faith Baptist Church (now FaithPoint) in Longmont before becoming homebound last year.
Carmen is survived by her sister Beverly Spenner of Westminster, CO; sisters-in-law Betty Allen of Torrington, WY, Myrna Gould of Milliken, CO, Emma Snyder of Erie, CO, and Bonnie Morris of Galesburg, IL. She leaves behind her children: Gary (Glenda) Gould of Niwot, CO, Pat (Angie) Gould of Simpsonville, SC, Guy Gould of Fort Morgan, CO, and Penny (Bill) Jump of Broomfield, CO.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Gara Gould of Littleton, CO, Greta (Adam) Griffin of Richmond, IN, Charity (Paul) Blummer of Simpsonville, SC, Jeremiah (Alicia) Gould of Greenville, SC, and Jonathan (Liz) Gould of Cyprus, Shelisa (Bob) Davis of Belle Fourche, SD, Katrina (Michael) Dawson of Portland, OR, Holly (Jed) Roark of Prescott, Arizona, Clint Gould of Greeley, CO, Nathan (Melissa) Jump of Liberty, MO, Carson (Amy) Jump of Fort Bragg, NC, Rachael Jump of Broomfield, CO, and Austin Bell of Fort Collins, CO. She was blessed with 35 great-grandchildren, each a testament to her enduring love and influence.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dale, her beloved husband Frank, her daughter Cindy Bell, grandsons Kenneth Jump, Caleb Jump, and James Gould, daughter-in-law Sherry Gould, and brother-in-law Norbert Spenner.
Her family and friends will remember Carmen for her walk with God and her life of serving family and others. She leaves behind a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ, love for God and family, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to The Gideons International USA Scripture Needs at https://gideons.org/donate?giftPurpose=USA+Scripture+Needs.
