Born on September 28, 1933, to Michael and Katherine Cito, Carol grew up on the family farm atop Gunbarrel Hill. After graduating from Longmont High School in 1951, she continued her education at Colorado State University. Carol began her career with the Telephone Company before marrying and dedicating herself to raising her family. Later, she worked as a secretary at Indian Peaks Elementary School, where she touched countless lives over her 35-year career.
On February 12, 1956, Carol married Kenneth Souply. Together they raised five children—Cindy, Kenny (deceased), Teresa, Christi, and Janell. Carol was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored and loved spending time with.
Outside of work, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family at their cabin in Red Feather Lakes and going shopping with her girls. She volunteered at Longmont United Hospital, played bridge, and was an active member of several social clubs.
Carol loved going on cruises and traveling abroad with family and friends. She was also a proud and devoted lifelong member of St. John’s Catholic Church, where her faith guided her throughout her life.
Carol is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Kenneth Ray Souply; her children Cindy Souply (Karen), Teresa Weott (Mike), Christi Guthals, and Janell Sherratt (Paul); her brother Gilbert Cito; her grandchildren Brayden Johnson (Sondra), Austin Guthals, Brennan Guthals, Corey Sherratt, Dylan Sherratt, Aiden Sherratt; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Michael and Katherine Cito and her son, Kenny Souply.
Carol will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering faith, and the love she shared with everyone who knew her.
