Carol J Tagliente

Carol Jean Tagliente passed away on January 13, 2018 at her home in Frederick ,CO after a courageous battle with cancer, she was 69. Carol was born July 19, 1948 in Panguitch, Utah to Robert and Barbara (Johnson) Reid. Carol and her family spent her early childhood in Utah before moving to Scottsdale, Arizona. Soon after Carol started high school, her father's job moved the family to Longmont, CO. Carol attended Longmont High School, where she met her life long best friend Kelley Abernathy.

Shortly after graduating high school, Carol met and married Edward Tagliente and moved to Frederick,Co. There, they raised their family Jimmy, John, Justin and Jennifer.

In 1989, Carol started working at Safeway in Longmont. She started as a customer service clerk and quickly moved up to Variety Department Manager. She enjoyed her time at Safeway and met many friends there. She stayed at Safeway until her retirement in 2010.

Carol's greatest love was her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their sporting events and school programs. Mostly she just enjoyed being in their presence, no matter where or what it was, vacations, barbecues, holidays, birthday parties, Bronco parties or something as simple as sitting on her porch visiting with them. Carol lived for her children and grandchildren. Carol also enjoyed gardening, she took great pride in it. She would always say that she thought she had the cutest little yard in all of Frederick.

Carol is survived by her sons Jimmy, John and Justin and his wife Jenni, a daughter Jennifer Hurtado and her husband Bo, brother Barry and Nancy Reid, brother Tye Reid, her beloved granchildren Brady, Hailee, Emilee, Brooklynn, Sonny, and Brandon, life long best friends Joe DeSantis and Kelley Abernathy, and several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Barbara Reid, her brother Rob Reid, and friend Glenda DeSantis.

Services will be held at 1pm on Monday January 22 at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Inurnment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Saddleback Golf Club.

As she was the biggest fan of the Frederick High School Girls Basketball team, Nothing would please Carol more then to donate to the team in her honor. Donations can be made to Frederick High School Girls Basketball C/O of Howe Mortuary 439 Coffman St. Longmont, CO 80501.
