Carolyn Lucas

Carolyn A Lucas, 82, of Longmont CO, passed away on Monday, November 07, 2016 after a short illness at Longmont United Hospital. She was born May 1, 1934 in Phillipsburg Kansas and raised in Longmont.

Carolyn graduated from Longmont High School in 1952 where she made many lifelong friendships and attended Colorado State College of Education. She married Robert “Bob” Lucas, her childhood sweetheart, on June 12, 1955. Carolyn worked in banking, insurance and at the Longmont Time Call; however her primary vocation was as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother—which she greatly enjoyed.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Archie and Lavond Larkin, her husband Robert “Bob” Lucas, and son Jeff Lucas. Carolyn is survived by her son Hardee Lucas, and daughter Lola (Steve) Hamby, granddaughters: Amanda (Ryan) Bracewell and Ashley (Brett) Siclair, grandsons: Tyler Hamby and Nick Hamby, and great-grandchildren: Jackson Bracewell, Anthony Siclair, Dalton Siclair and Easton Siclair.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont. A private inurnment will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Longmont Humane Society in care of Howe Mortuary.
