Catherine Louise LeDoux

Catherine Louise (Hoover) LeDoux passed away Feb 5, at 4:30 pm surrounded by her family and close friends. She had spent many years battling lupus and cancer, though many didn’t know of her struggles because she never complained. Cathy was a caring, hardworking wife and mother who always put the needs of others ahead of herself. Whether someone was a family member, friend, coworker, or new acquaintance, her “radar” was always on looking for ways to help or to make others happy. She would cook a meal, make a gift, or order that perfect item just to brighten someone’s day. Words of wisdom and love flowed from her to enrich all who knew her. Her love for her children and grandchildren were second only to her love for her husband.

Cathy was born on January 19, 1951 in Midland, MI to Melvin and Ruth (Wendt) Hoover. The family moved to Longmont in 1967 from Coal Creek Canyon and she graduated from Longmont High School in 1969.

On June 25, 1988, she married Robert LeDoux. Cathy worked in the Sears Automotive Department in 1983 and then went on to work at Leanin’ Tree until her retirement in 2017. She belonged to the Ye Olde Auto Club and in her free time enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, spoiling her husband, kids and grandkids, attending antique car shows, and going on cruises. Cyber shopping was her superpower. Cathy loved her pets and went to great pains to make sure they were pampered.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ronald R. Hoover.

She is survived by her husband Robert of Ft. Lupton, CO; her sons Larry Weigel, Jr. (Trixie) of Firestone, CO and Andrew Weigel of Glenville, MN; her daughters Stephanie Schag (Steve) of Rochester, NH and Crystal Joos (Taigen) of Somersworth, NH; her grandchildren Dillon and Colton Weigel of Glenville, MN, Jared, Caleb, David, Ethan and Lydia Schag of Rochester, NH, and Marshall and Shaylen Joos of Somersworth, NH; her brother Herb J. Hoover of Longmont, CO; her sister Patricia; and her nieces and nephews Rhonda Church, Ronald Hoover, Jr., Regina Gaulrapp, Michelle Carajal and Robert Gardener.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday February 27, 2025 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel 326 Terry St. Longmont, CO 80501. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lupus Foundation of America at lupus.org.
