Catherine Ann Wright

Catherine Ann Wright, ""Cathie"", 74, of Longmont passed away at her home July 7, 2008. She was born December 7, 1933, in Pepin, Wisconsin to Stanley and Margaret (McLeod) Axell. She grew up in Wisconsin and in the Kansas City area. She married Jerry Albert Wright in 1954; they later divorced.Cathie worked for the Federal Government in Kansas City for 27 years, retiring in 1986. During her government career, she was a draftsman for the Army Corps of Engineers and Weather Service; worked in the FAA Flight Surgeon office and worked at the FAA-ARTCC in Olathe, Kansas. A woman of many talents, Cathie was also an accomplished artist. Cathie moved to Longmont in 1986. She worked at Longmont United Hospital as a unit secretary for many years. She is survived by daughter, Dr. Jeri Ann Sandbach and husband, David of Longmont; grandson, Chris Sandbach and wife, Abby of Broomfield; grandson, Pat Sandbach and wife, Jenn of Longmont; cousin, Dr. John McLeod and wife, Mia of Los Alamos, NM; her dog, Snuggie and many dear friends.Memorial services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 9 at Westview Presbyterian Church, 15th and Hover.
