Charlene E. Lillie

Charlene E. Lillie, 80, of Niwot, CO passed away January 22, 2015 at Juniper Village at Louisville, an assisted living facility for individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia. She was born on February 4, 1934 in Colorado Springs, CO to Charles E. & S. Madelyn Whale.Charlene graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1952 and attended Colorado A&M College (Colorado State University) from 1952-1953. She married F. Dean Lillie on September 6, 1953 in Colorado Springs. They lived in Greeley and La Junta from 1953-1961 followed by Boulder from 1961-1977, Glenwood Springs 1977-1984, Trinidad 1984-1991 and returned to Boulder 1991-1992 before moving to Niwot in May 1992.Charlene was a homemaker, loving wife and friend, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, traveling, animals, crafts, water aerobics and spending time with family and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and brother James Whale.Charlene is survived by her husband Dean, daughters Debra W. Fuqua (Wayne) of Boulder, Cristina K. Hott (Mark) of Westminster and Paige A. Lillie (Ed Murray) of Glenwood Springs; brothers Dale K. Whale of Sandia Park, NM and Charles A. Whale of Divide, CO; sisters Donette J. Seymour of Corrales, NM and Trudy J. Holiski of Rio Rancho, NM and grandchildren Nathan S. Smith of Boulder, Caitlin E. Hott (Gary Whitney) of Thornton and Zachary M. Hott of Westminster and great granddaughter Madison Lillie Whitney of Thornton.Per Charlene's request, no services will be held. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Colorado Springs, CO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 789 Sherman Street, Suite 500, Denver, CO 80302.
