Charles Mac A. McKeever

Charles A. Mac McKeever, 93, of Longmont, CO passed away May 19, 2015 at Longmont United Hospital. Mac was born on October 7, 1921 in Norwood, CO to James R. & Bernice (Prindle) McKeever.Mac graduated from Grand Junction High School and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado. He served with the United States Navy.Mac married Shirley Sterling on June 5, 1943. He was an electrical engineer with Sandia Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM for 33 years, retiring in 1986. They moved to Longmont from Albuquerque, NM in 1995. Mac was a Boy Scout leader, taught Sunday school, loved building things with his kids and was a backyard gardener. He also enjoyed a good game of golf.Mac was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Pamela McKeever, brother Harold McKeever and sister Betty Ostrander.Mac is survived by his wife Shirley, son Bruce A. McKeever, daughters Mary Ruth French and Patricia A. Boysen, granddaughter Genevieve Birch and great-grandson Conor Birch.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 5, 2015, which is Mac & Shirley's 72nd wedding anniversary, at Heart of Longmont Church, 350 11th Ave., Longmont, CO 80501.
