He graduated from Longmont High School in 2001 and graduated from Bemidji State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management.
While going to school in Bemidji, Chris met and fell in love with Rachel Tasa. They were married on December 11, 2009. After college graduation, they moved back to Firestone, Colorado.
Chris worked in Business Development for several landscape companies in the area. His most recent position was General Manager for Iten Painting LLC.
Chris attended and was baptized at LifeBridge Christian Church before his high school graduation. When he returned to Colorado, he attended Rocky Mountain Christian Church.
With an extreme passion for sports, he enjoyed playing football and basketball in his early years and loved coaching youth football and basketball after returning to Firestone. But most of all, watching his children play their sports of football, basketball and volleyball was his ultimate delight.
He loved to grill, cook and entertain especially when that involved sharing the meal with family, friends and neighbors. Bringing friends and family together was important to him. One way he did this was by hosting an annual cornhole tournament. He found great joy in celebrating other people’s accomplishments and letting them know that through a small gift or phone call. He put a lot of thought and time into finding the “perfect” gift for someone to express his love for them. He always strived to find time to call or text people to let them know he was thinking about them.
Chris is survived by his loving wife Rachel; children Maeson, Kyla, Kenadee, Aubri; parents Vince and Pam Preston of Frederick; sister Stacey (Bryce) Silver of Valparaiso, IN; nephew Camden Silver and niece Payton Silver of Valparaiso, IN.
