Claudia Jean Olson

Claudia was born August 23, 1948 in Greeley, Colorado to Marjorie M. (Midcap) and Milo R. Olin, Jr. She grew up in Greeley and Longmont, and graduated from Longmont High School in 1966. Claudia married Ned G. Sprague in 1968. She later married David T. Beck in 1990. David passed away later that year. In 1992, she married Ronald L. Olson and they were together until the time of his passing in 2011.

During Claudia’s early years of marriage, she was the lady of the house while she and her husband, Ned, raised their two children, Eric and Gretchen. Once the kids were old enough to be on their own, Claudia reentered the workforce. At first, she took on several roles in the medical and educational industries but found her niche in the financial sector as a loan officer. She spent most of her career in this trade which paid dividends for her and her third husband Ron, when they started a trucking business in the mid-2000’s. Claudia considered her and Ron’s business one of her biggest accomplishments.

Claudia loved to garden and she loved to travel. Towards the end of her life, she was able to vacation twice in Europe and mark that off of her “bucket list”. She had hoped to go a third time, but her health kept her from doing so, though she was able to travel to Washington D.C. Claudia was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was loved and she will be missed.

Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Marjorie, husband, Ron, and her sister, Vicki Lopez. She is survived by her sister Cheryl (Ozzie) Summy and her children, Eric C. (Rebecca) Sprague, and Gretchen N. (Kyle) Reynolds, grandchildren, Camden C. Sprague, Dylan Reynolds, Abigail N. Sprague, and Alicia Reynolds.

A Celebration of Life for Claudia was held Friday, March 18, 2022 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont, CO.
