
Constance ""Connie"" Joanne Williams of Longmont died Oct. 14, 2008, at Longmont United Hospital after a brief illness. She was 62. Connie was born March 17, 1946 in Ottumwa, Iowa, to James and Marie (Ballard) Brooks. She moved to Boulder with her family at an early age and graduated from Boulder High School. Connie married Larry Williams and they resided in the Niwot and Longmont area. Larry preceded her in death. They had one son, Casey E. Williams. Connie began a career in law enforcement with the Boulder County Sheriff's Department in Animal Control, and later became one of the first female police officers for the Boulder Police Department. She served as an officer with the Boulder Police Department for many years. After retiring from law enforcement, she worked for King Soopers in several locations, including Boulder and Longmont. She was a member of the Colorado-1 Chapter of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson. She will be remembered for her love of horses and her sense of humor.She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Jim Brooks, Leland Brooks and Gene Gregory.She is survived by her son, Casey E. Williams of Bozeman, Montana, sisters-in-law, Nancy Brooks and Suzanne Brooks, and her beloved dog, Harley. A celebration of life memorial service will be held Sat., Nov. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Niwot United Methodist Church, 7405 Lookout Road, in Gunbarrel, with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colorado-1 Chapter of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, 8726 West Iliff Ave., Lakewood, CO 80227 or Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center, 11968 Mineral Road, Longmont, CO 80504.
