On October 24, 2020 we lost an amazing son, brother, uncle, cousin and loved and respected friend to many. Curt fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and was certainly a warrior in doing so.
Curt was born in Denver, Colorado but grew up in Longmont, attended Burlington Elementary, Longmont Junior High and graduated from Niwot High School in 1977. He enlisted into the US Army serving from 1978 – 1980 was ranked as an E4 on discharge. He was so very proud of his serving his country and continued to be a proud American. He worked many years in the insulation business and ending his career as Branch Manager of Winroc-SPI.
We all knew Curt as a kind, warm, generous and pleasant, and thoughtful person who loved his family deeply, loved his Harley maybe 2nd, his trip to Sturgis, any fishing time he could get in, his pets Rowdy and Ms. Q and any and all animals. He was known for the way his pets found him. They all seemed to appear on his doorstep and find a warm and loving home with him. The strong person that he was, enduring chemo and radiation, he still managed to continue working 70 hours a week.
He was a lover of all sports – Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Colorado Avalanche and Nascar Racing. If ever we could not remember a date or some quarterback who played or a Nascar driver our first call was to Curt as he always knew the answer. He was always quick to remind friends of family birthdays, even if they weren't ready to celebrate them.
