

Age 49, of Frederick, passed away unexpectedly in his home January 16, 2012. He was born June 28, 1962 in Denver, Colorado to Deryl Edward and Dolores Ann (Cowan) Collier.
Dale was part of the 1980 graduating class of Frederick High School. He later went on to join and serve in the United States Army focused on Military Police from 1984-1986. He joined the Army Reserve for 6 years in 1990, and back to the United States Army from 1995-1998, focused on utility equipment repair and Military Police, a portion of this time spent in foreign service, being honorably discharged in 1998. He was very proud to have had the opportunity to serve our beloved country.
He then went on to join his father in work driving a truck for Collier Trucking, Inc. He drove a truck for many years in various jobs he had; it allowed him to see much of the United States and gave him the opportunity to tell you that he visited almost all 50 states.
Dale was also a member of the American Legion Post 1985. He loved history and if you knew him probably at some point got a history lesson from him. He was very proud to be able to tell you that he was able to correct his history teacher a few times while he was in school. He also enjoyed watching the neighbor kids work on their cars and taking walks throughout the town, frequently visiting many of the restaurants and people around town.
Surviving Dale is his brother Doug and sister-in-law Brenda Collier, nephew Dustin Collier, niece Dana Collier and great nephew Charles Edward Collier, all of Frederick, CO. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m., Staging area “A”, Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
