
Dale H. Foster, long time Boulder dairyman, passed away March 5, 2014, at Life Care in Longmont. Dale was one of five children born to Leo and Mary Foster (Brodhag), Leo Jr., Kathryn, Lucile, and Bob. Dale completed all his schooling in Boulder, as a paper boy he delivered the daily paper to Buffs tailback Whizzer White and was inspired by the stories he told. Dale graduated from Boulder High School in 1942, and was voted a football team captain by his team mates.Dale enlisted in the Army Air Forces after graduation and traveled to St. Frances, Kansas with his girlfriend Beverlie Jones to be married, as she was too young to be legally married in Colorado, before heading to war where he served in England for the duration of the war. Together the Foster's raised five children, Sharon, Billy, Leo, Dale Jr., and Debbie.After the war Dale began a 40 year career with Watts-Hardy Dairy, working around the dock, becoming a route driver and eventually became the only Sales Manager the dairy ever had before its sale in 1984. Dale, as manager of the South Boulder Little League all-stars took his team to within one game of the Little League World Series in 1960.Dale was the proud grandpa of nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Dale was preceded in death by his wife Beverlie and daughters Sharon and Debbie. Interment will be set for a later date.
