Dale Douglas Saylors

Dale Douglas Saylors, 85, of Longmont, CO, passed away August 2, 2013 at Peaks Care Center.Dale was born August 30, 1927 in Allen, KS to Harry William and Nona Nichols (Oglegy) Saylors. Dale grew up in Allen, graduating from Allen Rural High School. Dale married Margie Parker on August 20, 1950 in Bushong, KS. They moved to Walden, CO in 1957, to Longmont in 1958 and then to Lyons in 1962. He was a farmer and rancher in Kansas before moving to Walden, CO. Dale served as a police officer for 15 years in Lyons and as a Boulder County Sheriff's Deputy for 3 years.Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of Foothills Baptist Church, Lyons.Dale is preceded in death by his parents, wife Margie in 2011, his brother Jimmie D. Saylors, Sr. and sister Freida Fay Arndt.His is survived by a nephew Jim Saylors of Casper, WY and a great niece Courtney Saylors of Dickinson, NE.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, CO.
