

Dana was born September 3,1949, in Hutchinson, KS, to Orvil C. Starr and Irma Jane Slifer Starr. Dana attended grade school in Nickerson, KS; Fairview High School in Boulder, CO; and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO.
After college she worked briefly as a teacher in Idaho Springs, CO. She moved to Albuquerque, NM, where she worked at a hospital starting her career in Medical Records. In 1983 she moved back to the Boulder area, continuing her work in Medical Records and becoming a Cancer Registrar. She was a member of chapter GB of P.E.O., in Longmont, CO, she was dedicated to the P.E.O annual fundraiser.
Dana loved gardening and became a Master Gardener. She preferred desert landscapes which prompted her to Xeriscape her yard. Dana thoroughly enjoyed being outside in her evolving Xeriscaped yard identifying plants and bird watching.
Dana loved her cats, Scout and Zola, who were her beloved companions.
Dana was a friendly, kind and generous person. She had many friends throughout her lifetime and will truly be missed by all. She tended to others as she tended to her gardens with love, care and devotion.
Dana is survived by her sister, Cheryl Starr Hayward (Dan) of Carlisle, PA; nephew David D. Hayward of Norristown, PA; niece Mary Jane Hayward Miller (John) of Boiling Springs, PA, and their children, John C. Miller, IV, of YorkHaven, PA; Kyle D. Miller (Amara) of Jacksonville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orvil and Irma; and her sister Elaine Gail Starr Shaddock.
Dana will be laid to rest at the family cemetery in Hutchinson, KS.
A celebration of life will take place on a later date to be determined.
Cremation is entrusted to Howe Mortuary & Crematory of Longmont, Colorado.
