Daniel Lee Hoover, 79, of Longmont, CO, passed away on August 26, 2026 from Lung Cancer. He was born on May 19, 1947 to Cecil and Teresa Hoover in Pueblo, CO. Daniel was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing for much of his life. He was a graduate of Colorado State University with a focus on wildlife biology and a veteran of the United States Army. He had a prominent career as a deputy for the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department during which he received The Meritorious Service Medal in 1995 and The Life Saving Medal in 2001. He ended his watch on November 25, 2007 with the rank of Commander. He will be deeply missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann Bailey, and survived by his children Patrick Daniel Bailey-Hoover and Rachel Elizabeth Bailey-Hoover, and his four grandchildren Rachel, Finn, Liam, and Jackson. A service will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church at 803 3rd Ave, Longmont, CO 80501 on September 19, 2026 at 11am. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery at 1500 S Sunset St, Longmont, CO 80501.
