

Daryl grew up in Potter, Nebraska and graduated from Potter High School in 1951. After graduation, he attended college at the University of Nebraska until he joined the Naval Reserves. Daryl was then drafted into the Army where he spent 2 years in California later being honorably discharged. After his service, he returned to Potter, Nebraska where he joined his father in the hardware business. Daryl then attended Chadron State College where he received his degree in education. After graduation, he attended college in Pittsburgh, Kansas where he obtained his Master’s Degree. Daryl then moved to Longmont where he taught shop and computers at Longs Peak Junior High for 21 years. Daryl also coached basketball and football at Longs Peak.
Daryl retired from teaching and moved to Sun City, Arizona where he lived until his recent return to Longmont to be closer to family. Daryl enjoyed golfing and bowling and being the Commissioner of his fantasy football league. Daryl was inducted into the Bowling Hall of fame at two separate bowling alleys and regularly golfed at several courses in Arizona.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph “Rudy” Dedic and Wilma (Slama) Dedic. Survivors include his brother Dale Dedic (wife Lyllian); nephew Trent Dedic (wife Tammie); nieces Trisha Edwards (husband John), Tiffany Rafferty (husband Wayne), grandnieces Ashley, Carly, Madison and Katie and grandnephews Tyler, Jake and Brandon.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont. A memorial service will be held in Potter, Nebraska at a later date.
