
Dave L. Holland of Longmont, CO passed away October 31, 2014 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 92 years old. He was born on July 28, 1922 in Gloucester, Massachusetts to Raymond W. P. and Sarah (Clark) Holland. He grew up in Gloucester, MA and graduated from Gloucester High School. He then went to work for Sikorsky Aircraft before joining the Air Force where he was a pilot and instructor serving in both WWII and the Korean War; he was honorably discharged with the rank of Lt. Col.On September 12, 1953 he married Annaliese Herbster and together they moved to Longmont that same year. Dave graduated from Denver University with an Associate's Degree in Business. For a time, he managed the Longmont Airport. He was then self-employed as a swimming pool contractor and owned Pleasure Pool Company. He built Sunset Swimming Pool in Longmont and later on sold real estate before retiring in 1994.Dave was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont and a charter member of the Pinewood Springs Presbyterian Church. He also belonged to the Longmont Rotary club and the Toast Masters club. Dave enjoyed golfing, biking, tennis and hiking.Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Raymond Holland, Jr. and Dana Holland.He is survived by his wife Annaliese Anne Holland of Longmont; his sons Michael Holland and wife Dianne of Wellington, CO and David Holland of Longmont, CO; his daughters Nancie Brackett of Broomfield, CO and Susan Johnson and husband Gary of Palestine, TX; his grandchildren Jessi Cooper and husband Gerald of Elkhart, TX,Dr. Cody C. Johnson and wife Amy of Elgin, TX , and Jaimee A. Brackett of Broomfield, CO; his great-grandchildren Coyt Cooper and Brooke Annaliese Cooper of Elkhart, TX; and his nephews Jonathon Holland and wife Vicki of New Jersey and Raymond Holland and wife Liz of Pennsylvania.A family graveside service will be held in Gloucester, MA at a later date.
