David Leroy Koldeway

He was born on August 5, 1960, in Longmont, Colorado, to Richard and Joan (Klausner) Koldeway. He spent his life in Colorado, building a home centered on love, hard work, and family.

On May 9, 1981, David married the love of his life, Annette Parson, in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Together they built a beautiful life, raising two sons and creating countless memories through family vacations, sporting events, and the everyday moments that meant the most. Their love for one another was unwavering, and though Annette passed away in 2013, David carried her memory with him every day.

David was a devoted father to his sons, Christopher and Andy. He was their greatest supporter from the very beginning, proudly coaching their sports teams when they were young and continuing to cheer them on throughout their lives. His greatest joy, however, came from being “grandpa” to his granddaughters. He adored Remi and Rosie more than life itself, and nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with them and telling them endless stories.

David also cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Wesson, who was rarely far from his side. He enjoyed working with his hands and could almost always be found tackling a project around the house. Whether fixing something, building something new, or lending a helping hand, David took pride in hard work and was always willing to help others.

Those who knew David will remember his quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor, unwavering loyalty, and generous heart. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, treating friends like family and always putting the needs of those he loved before his own. His strength, kindness, and steadfast devotion to his family defined the life he lived.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annette; his precious granddaughter, Josie; his twin brother, Dan; three additional siblings; and his parents, Richard and Joan Koldeway.

He is survived by his loving sons, Christopher (Breann) Koldeway and Andy (Ellie) Koldeway; his cherished granddaughters, Remi and Rosie; nine siblings; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

David’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, laughter, and selfless devotion to his family. His presence leaves an immeasurable void; but his example of kindness, hard work, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A celebration of life for David will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:00 am at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Frederick, Colorado - 9029 Grand Mesa Ave. across from Bella Rosa Golf Course. A luncheon will follow the celebration of life.
