

David R. McIlvain 69, of Longmont passed away at home on June 27, 2015. He was born October 20, 1945 in Morganfield, Kentucky to Frank and Kathryn (Borzner) McIlvain.David graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1964; he received his B.S. degree in mathematics from Drexel Institute of Technology on June 14, 1969. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.He taught computer science at Drexel University and Villanova University and served as a programmer at the Atomic Energy Commission.David worked for more than 30 years with IBM, attaining success in marketing, sales and overall product management. He began his career as an Advisory Marketing Representative, responsible for electric, gas and water utilities in Philadelphia and southern New Jersey. He attained multiple 100% Clubs for top achievement in sales. David became a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club in September of 1993. Later he served as program manager responsible for copier/page printer marketing and service. Ultimately he managed strategic planning for the IBM Printing Systems Company. David married Nancy Elizabeth Jamison on May 24, 1986; they just celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary. He loved golf, and was an avid squash player. International travel, especially cruises, brought wonderful experiences. He was a great chef and enjoyed entertaining his many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Kathryn Elizabeth McIlvain and a brother Frank Charles McIlvain.David is survived by his wife Nancy, his nieces and nephews and his cousin Anne Reimann of Philadelphia, PA.Memorial service will be 10:30 AM Friday July 3, 2015 at CENTRALongmont (formerly Central Presbyterian Church). In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Longmont Humane Society and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont, CO 80501.
