He was born on March 3, 1942 in Colorado to Neponuceno and Rose (Delatorre) Parra.
Dave married the love of his life, Virginia, on July 21, 1973. Together, they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Their devoted partnership continued until Virginia’s passing on March 25, 2018.
Dave stayed in the area and worked in construction before starting his career with Longmont Parks and Forestry, he retired after 42 years with the city.
Dave embraced retirement and made the most of his time doing the things he loved. He enjoyed fishing and camping, loved four-wheeling and spending time at the Sand Dunes, and had a true passion for working on motors. He also enjoyed truck and tractor pulls, where he made many wonderful memories with his family.
One of Dave’s favorite traditions was having each of his children take a turn driving the Jeep which came with many trophies.
David will be fondly remembered for his humble, loving, kind, and fun-loving nature. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it was working on a project, making a repair, or simply being there when someone needed him, Dave was a reliable and supportive presence for his family and friends. He enjoyed sharing his talents and time with others and found great joy in the things he loved, especially barbecuing and building toys. He had a great sense of humor and it brought him great joy to spend time with his beloved children and taught them how to ride three wheelers.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife Virgina, his parents, his daughter Kelley Rae Parra, his granddaughter Aimee Nicole Maly, his siblings, Nick Parra and Don Iverson and his brother-in-law Sonny Onorato.
