

Dennis was born the fourth of seven children to Eleanor K. (Rodenburg) and Henry R. Schneider in Longmont, Colorado. He grew up on a farm south of Longmont and attended Fairview Elementary School and Mead High School. His family moved to a farm northeast of Longmont in 1958.He is preceded in death by one brother, Allan, and his mother and father. He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Jessing (husband Mark) of Carterville, Missouri and Lori of Longmont, and a grandson of Longmont, Colorado. He is also survived by four brothers, Dallas (wife Marge), Jerry (wife Margaret), Jim, David, and one sister, Susan Judson (husband Jon).Dennis spent his life in Longmont except a brief time in Texas, where his daughter, Kelly, was born.He worked for Dualomatic, Red Dale Camper, Valley Camper, and the St. Vrain Valley Schools.Dennis was a serious aficionado of Chevrolet vehicles and owned Chevys throughout his life. His prized possession was a 1957 Chevy Bel Air two-door hardtop. He also owned several motorcycles and, in his later years, moved into antique tractor ownership, and finally, competed in garden tractor pulling, amassing a large number of garden tractors.Dennis was a hard worker throughout his life and was passionate about his cars, trucks and collections. He was known by many who knew he had a unique personality. He was a Longmont original.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
