

Dianna was born on August 29, 1939, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Joseph Nichols and Mary Anna Ray Nichols. She was born into a small family with her 2 brothers. The early days of her life were filled with joy. Her brothers took their role seriously and adored her with everything they had. Her brother Harry made sure to take her under his wing and take her everywhere with him.
She graduated from high school in Lexington, Kentucky. Over her working career, she loved to do volunteer work alongside her office work. She enjoyed being part of her community.
Dianna married the love of her life Larry Joe Box on June 2, 1960, in Lexington, Kentucky. The family moved to Longmont, Colorado in June 1974. Together Dianna and Larry raised 2 girls and 1 boy with patience and love.
Her friends and family described her as fantastic, loving and patient. She was loyal to her friends, as well as a loving sibling. She loved her faith and spirituality. Her family and friends could count on her for a listening ear as well as comfort during rough times, her smile was a pinnacle of comfort.
Dianna enjoyed crafting in her free time when she wasn’t spending valuable time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, needlepointing, cross stitch, Mah Jong, family gatherings, and traveling.
Dianna is preceded in passing by the love of her life Larry Joe Box; her parents Joseph Nichols and Mary Anna Ray Nichols; her daughter Lisa Box who passed in 1970; her siblings Joe (Paula) Nichols and Harry (Ruth) Nichols; and her grandson Raymond Gonzales Sr.
She is survived by her daughter Cathy Gonzales; her son Rodney Box; her grandchildren Kyle Box, Dylan Box, Paul Gonzales III, Raymond Gonzales Jr., Victor Gonzales; along with her additional family Frankie Wilhoit, Cheryl Workman, JoAnn Lentz; and numerous Kentucky relatives; and last but not least her furry family Goldie and Ruffles.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Howe Mortuary & Crematory, located at 439 Coffman St, Longmont, Colorado. A reception will follow the service in the Howe Mortuary Reception Room.
