Dianne Kay Prout joined her beloved husband in heaven on September 18. 2024. She was born February 2, 1948 to Fred and Bertha Vogel and grew up in New Mexico and Colorado. She graduated from Arvada West High School in 1966. Dianne married her husband of nearly 55 years, William B. Prout, on June 28, 1969. They raised their family in Golden, Arvada and Grand Junction before building their forever home together in Longmont, Colorado in 1985.
Dianne dedicated her life to her marriage, her family, and God. She was by Bill's side throughout his career; running bids on "bid day" in the construction world, planning and hosting beautiful company dinners and always supporting him behind the scenes. Dianne found great joy in raising her children and in keeping a beautiful home. She was often the school room mother, offering delicious homemade treats or hand-sewn gifts, and she made family dinner around the table a priority every night. Dianne brought that joy to serving her church as well, spending many years teaching kindergarten Sunday school and planning vacation bible school weeks.
Dianne was a gifted seamstress, creating beautiful wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses for her daughters, baptismal gowns for her grandchildren, and countless Halloween costumes, first day of school dresses and matching holiday ensembles for her children and grandchildren. She patiently taught her daughters, granddaughters and many others in the community to sew over the years in her home and for classes and clubs, building lifelong friendships along the way.
She is survived by her daughters Cristin (Patrick) Sherwood, Michelle (Tom) Kramer, Sarah Prout Golobic, son Jonathan Prout, grandchildren David, William, Anna, Rachel, Liam, Henry, Eli, Grey, Jameson, and Ellis, and great grandchildren Peter and Michael. She is also survived by her brother Fred and sisters Sharon, Carol and Debra.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, Fred and Bertha Vogel, and her brother Richard.
Dianne's memorial service will be at Faith Community Lutheran Church in Longmont, CO on October 8, 2024, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Faith Community Lutheran Church.
