Dolores was born on March 17, 1931 in Sedgwick, Colorado to Christina Elizabeth and Johan George Weisgerber. She was one of eight children; four boys and four girls. Dolores grew up farming with her family in eastern Colorado. The Weisgerber family moved to Longmont, Colorado in 1947 where they continued their farming together. Dolores graduated from Longmont High School in 1949.
On November 13, 1949, not long after her graduation, Dolores married the love of her life, Richard Wagner, in Longmont. They remained happily married until the time of his passing in March of 2013. Together, Dolores and Richard brought into the world one son, Richard Lee, and one daughter, Lynette Jean.
Dolores worked for many years for Great Western Experimental Company, later called Hillesog Mono-Hi. She worked first in the lab and then as an office manager, before retiring in 1993. Following her retirement, Dolores and Richard moved to Fort Collins to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. Dolores became a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was on the Class of Longmont High School Reunion Committee, a member of the Longmont Elks Club, and a member of the Ladies Birthday Lunch Group in Fort Collins. Dolores was a Colorado gal and enjoyed camping and trips to the mountains. She liked to read, and travel, and spend time with her walking group.
More than anything else, Dolores loved her family. She was a loving wife, a caring mother, and a doting grandmother. Dolores will be dearly missed.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Christina and George; her husband, Richard; her son, Rick; sisters, June and Joann Weisgerber (twins), and Lyra Winters; and brothers, Ruben Weisgerber, Robert Weisgerber, Harold Weisgerber, and LeRoy Weisgerber. She leaves behind her daughter, Lynette Salzman (Mike); daughter-in-law, Lynn Wagner; grandchildren, Brent Salzman and Aaron Salzman (Sara); great-grandchildren, Aishlin, Caiden, Skye, Caitlyn, and Brayden; and several nieces and nephews.
