Donald DJ E. Bettis, Jr. passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on June 16, 2017 at the Denver Hospice Care Center. He was 56 years old.DJ was born on September 3, 1960 in Denver, CO to Donald E. Bettis Sr. and Deanna K. Hillman. He spent the summers in South Carolina with his aunt and uncle while he was growing up. He graduated from Adams City High School in Commerce City, CO.On February 16, 1996 DJ married Wendy J. Tiernan. Together they moved to Longmont from Aurora in 2012.DJ was an over the road truck driver and regional manager for Self Storage. He was a member of LifeBridge Christian Church. DJ enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, painting, going to air shows, the mountains, listening to music and spending time with his wife.He was preceded in death by his father Donald; his grandmother Juanita Fern Green; and three uncles.DJ is survived by his wife Wendy; his daughter Chante Marie Dillon of Northglenn; mother Deanna; his mother-in-law Michelle White; his grandchildren Paul, Fred, Jorden, Urijah, Nickoli and Zyon; his great grandchild PJ; his brothers Terry Schadegg of Winston Salem, NC, and Ed Donner (Sheri) of Littleton; his sisters Michelle Manion (Allen) of Thornton, Kimberley Benard (David) of Lakewood, and Tracy Mares of Denver; his brother in law James Tiernan of Longmont; his sister in law Carrie Wilson of Tacoma, WA; six nephews; five nieces; six great nephews; and three great nieces.A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday July 7, 2017 at LifeBridge Christian Church.
