I have so many wonderful memories of our Uncle Don, starting with my childhood on the South Side of Chicago in the 1950's to our last visit with him this past October. But among my favorites were the family visits to Colorado with our children, staying with Don and Mary and enjoying picnics in the mountains and then more fun times back at their home. The laughter never stopped, and I will always treasure those days. Don was full of wit and wisdom to the end, and no one could sport a camera bag hat quite as well as he did.
Much love forever from your #1 (by birth) niece.

Uncle Don had the most special charm! I remember it from when I was growing up, when our big family would invade theirs for family vacations, and I was blessed to see him a couple of years ago when traveling in Colorado. That is a memory that I will hold dear forever! The more time passed, the more Uncle Don remained steadfastly who he was - a great and grateful, fun and hilarious man! Sue, Don and Bruce, I know how you'll miss your dad. But what a wonderful life he had, and what a great example he will always be. Sending our love to you and your family, and cherishing your dad always.

I was so fortunate to have shared some fond, warm and thoughtful times with Don. My best friend Sue is so blessed to have the best Dad ever. Thank you for sharing him with me. They share the same birthday and they will always be a present to each other - just like they are to us. Sending love to all the family. I will miss him too.
