Donna Joanne Ciccarelli

Donna Joanne Ciccarelli, age 78, of Longmont, Colorado passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Donna was born November 12, 1943 in Longmont, Colorado. Donna was most certainly a force of nature! She was the oldest of eight children. Donna was a very strong woman; if she wanted something, she figured out a way to get it. Although born in Longmont, she spent much of her life in northern California, where she had a successful career with Sacramento County’s Welfare Department. She was on several committees at work, was promoted many times, and made lifelong friends. Once retired, she moved back to Longmont, joining her family at the Montgomery Farm. She quickly made new friends and was active in her community: she taught English to many local people, was a member of her HOA Board, as well as cleanup of downtown Longmont. Her social calendar was full of activity with her friends in Red Hats, book clubs, trivia nights, bunco nights, and so much more. Those near and dear to Donna remember her as caring, jovial, straight forward, intelligent, well read, honest and friendly. In her last two years she faced several illnesses, greeting each day with determination. She bravely walked through all of those illnesses with strength, dignity and grace, all without a trace of self-pity. Donna is survived by her three children and their partners: Christina Cavazos, Darrel Lowe & Liza Lowe, Francesca Ciccarelli & James Gregory; her siblings Gary Montgomery, Mike Montgomery, Nancy Bronson, Kimberly Boxrud, and Kathy Montgomery. She was also survived by her seven beautiful grandchildren, and two great-grandsons. She is preceded by her parents, Donald Montgomery and Alice “Sunny” Montgomery; and sisters Chere Montgomery and Terri Lash. Donna will be remembered for her feisty spirit, sense of style, dignity, roses, perseverance, and so much more. Her family has many stories to tell! Anyone who was lucky enough to be considered among Donna Ciccarelli's friends knows the great impact she had in a life well lived! A memorial service for Donna will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. Following the memorial service will be a reception at 3:00 PM at Howe Mortuary Event Center, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501.
