She was born on March 12, 1940, in Howard, South Dakota, a daughter of Joseph Erickson and Nina Bohms Erickson.
Donna was a diligent and hard-working daughter of a farmer, who graduated from high school as the valedictorian of her class. She was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends, and strangers alike, and was cherished and loved by all. She approached every day with kindness, enthusiasm, and a smile. She never passed judgment and was always empathetic to the plights of others.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Erickson; her mother, Nina Bohms Erickson; her brothers, Marland and Richard Erickson; and her niece, Kay Erickson.
She is survived by her son, Michael Murphy; her grandchildren, Declan, Josephine, and Quinn Murphy; and her niece and nephew, Jill and Kyle Erickson.
Donna was a dedicated parishioner of Light of Christ Church in Longmont, Colorado. She was a devoted school teacher for over 20 years and cared for each of her students, many of whom she stayed in contact with after retirement. After a brief retirement from teaching, Donna brought her care and kindness to the assisted living community, where she touched the lives of so many
residents. More than anything, she loved her family, friends, and the Denver Broncos.
