Donna Jean Feighner

Donna was born on December 5, 1934, at home in Denver, Colorado, to John C. Johnson and Elta (Schulz) Johnson. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School with the Class of 1952.

One of Donna's favorite stories was meeting the love of her life, Frank George Feighner, at the roller-skating rink in Derby, Colorado, on February 12, 1952. Their love story led to marriage on November 1, 1953, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and community.

In 1968, Donna and Frank moved to the Longmont area from Montrose, Colorado, where they made their home for many years. Donna worked as a bookkeeper at the Denver Federal Center and later assisted her father while he served as a project superintendent for Mead & Mount. While raising her children, she dedicated herself to being a homemaker before returning to bookkeeping in the 1990s for a Longmont storage facility. She also served as secretary for the Longmont Bowling League during the 1990s. In 1972, the family moved to Berthoud, Colorado.

Faith was an important part of Donna's life. Throughout the years, she was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Denver, Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Gunnison, Messiah Lutheran Church in Longmont, and Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Estes Park.

Donna found joy in bowling leagues, playing bridge, gardening, visiting casinos, and enthusiastically cheering on all of Colorado's sports teams. She enjoyed being active with the Longmont Newcomers Club and the Elks Club. Above all else, she treasured the time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank George Feighner; her son, Frank Gene Feighner and his partner, Sandy Brown, of Pueblo, Colorado; her daughters, Jeanine Lynn Feighner of Loveland, Colorado, and Sheryl Lou Elliott and her husband, James Elliott, of Thornton, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Aaron Stillwell, Bryan Stillwell (Emily), Jennifer Montgomery (Mark), Barbara Koehn (Ryland), Chelsie Feighner, Samuel Elliott (Vanessa), and Marcus Nelson (Jordan Clark); sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, John C. Johnson and Elta (Schulz) Johnson; her brothers, John Clair Johnson, Alvin Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, and Harland Johnson; and her sisters, Emilie Linkenheil and Jeannette Kulp.

Donna will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, generous heart, and the love she shared so freely with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
