Donnie E Sears

Donnie was born on April 9, 1932 in Moravia, Iowa to Henry Ossaatmie Orlando Sears and Hazel Marie (Dudley) Sears. He graduated from Moravia High School in 1950 and in 1960 from Drake University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Economics.

Donnie married Marilyn Rose on September 30, 1950 in Moravia, Iowa. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, flying BOD’s at the Pentagon.

Donnie worked in the insurance industry for over 35 years. He began in sales, taking on various roles throughout his career including Adjuster, Claims Management and Regional Sales Manager. Always the entrepreneur he owned The Aquarium tropical fish shop in Longmont in the early 70’s.

Donnie enjoyed traveling, fishing and following the interests and likes of his children. He was of Christian faith and continued to share his beliefs with his family through services and taping life stories and Bible readings for them to listen, follow and understand.

Preceding him in death are his parents, former wife, a brother Pete and a sister June.

Surviving are sons William and Bryan (Theresa Roney) Sears both of Longmont, a daughter JoAnne Sears of Loveland; grandchildren Miranda (Alfonso) Aranda, W.L. “Cody” Sears, Robert (Megan) Sears, Zachary (Ashley) Sears, Joseph Sears, and Emma Cook; and great grandchildren Madison Sears; Sophia Aranda, Mason and Gavin Sears; Elizabeth Sears; Anastasia Sears; and twins Bryan and Matthew Sears.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, at the Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
