Doris Faye Drager

Doris Faye Drager, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, died on August 11, 2022, she was 85. She was born in Beloit, KS on November 5, 1936 to Dale and Beulah (Huffman) Chapman. Doris lived in a number of Kansas towns eventually moving to Burlington, CO. She graduated in 1954 from Walters High School in Walters, Oklahoma.

While living in Burlington, Doris met the love of her life, Ken Drager. They married in September 1954 and moved to Longmont, CO soon after where they raised 3 children.

In addition to being a master mother, homemaker, seamstress, and cook, Doris did the bookkeeping for Ken’s custom home building business. The family moved frequently into different homes Ken built in Longmont, Burlington, CO, and Russell, KS.

While in Burlington Doris worked for Kit Carson County and in Kansas she worked for Russell County, was elected as the Registrar of Deeds. When they returned to Longmont in 1986 she worked for the Vranesh and Raisch law firm for several years. Doris and Ken enjoyed retirement in one of Ken’s final homes in Berthoud. Doris was active in the Jaycee Jets and league bowling in Russell. Doris and Ken were members of the M&M Dinner/Dance Club and enjoyed activities with their many friends and family. As Doris’s health deteriorated, Ken took care of her with undeterred devotion.

Doris is survived by her brother Allen (Donne), sister Beverly, children Pam (George), Jeff (Paula), Kirk (Becky), grandchildren Candy, Dawn, Hannah, Emmett and four great-grandchildren. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, and infant son, Barry.
