

Dorothy Jane was born on April 4, 1925 in Bronx, New York to John Michael and Jenny (Hanley) Kennedy. She grew up in the Bronx and graduated from Cathedral High School. Dorothy married Augustus E. Nestler in the Bronx, New York on August 31, 1946. The family moved to Longmont in 1990 to be closer to family.
Dorothy was a homemaker taking care and raising five children. She devoted her time to seeing that the needs of the family were provided for. Dorothy was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a member of the Alter and Rosary Society for the church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, three sons: Paul, John and Henry Nestler, her parents and one brother, Jack Kennedy. Surviving are two daughters: Jane Arthur of Longmont and Mary Mohr and her husband John of Greeley; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a brother Thomas Kennedy and his wife Rose of
Westwood, New Jersey.
Visitation for Dorothy will be held at Howe Mortuary from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19 with a Vigil Service at 7:00. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 20 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Cremation will follow the services with private burial to take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
