Duane Keith Boden

April 15, 1946 – February 16, 2026
Obituary of Duane Keith Boden
IN THE CARE OF

Howe Mortuary & Crematory

Duane Keith Boden, age 79, passed away on February 16, 2026, in Longmont, Colorado.

Duane was born on April 15, 1946, in Boulder, Colorado, to Ervin Boden and Emmabel Boden (Tidrick). He graduated from Boulder High School in 1964 and spent his life rooted deeply in the community and landscapes he loved.

Duane began his career as an original employee of IBM when the company first moved to Boulder and later worked at Storage Technology. He spent much of his professional life as an electronic component salesperson with Component Product Sales in Gunbarrel before retiring in 2010 as Purchasing Manager for Micro Motion in Niwot. After retirement, he continued to serve his community by volunteering with the Forest Service office in Boulder.

An avid outdoorsman, Duane had a lifelong love of Colorado’s wilderness. He especially cherished riding off-road motorcycles with his brother and nephews on annual trips over the tops of Colorado’s highest peaks. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, birdwatching, and hiking, and he knew Boulder County “like the back of his hand.”

On September 15, 1965, Duane married his junior high school sweetheart, Margaret Belser. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his son, Kenneth Boden of Tampa, Florida, and his wife, Mariuxi Guzman Reyes; and his daughter, Summer Lee (Boden) of Longmont, Colorado, and her husband, Paul Lee.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Cremation is entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Crematory of Longmont, Colorado.
