A true gentleman of the greatest generation has left for home with our heavenly father. Earl Morrison passed peacefully from this world at his home on February 18th at the age of 92. Born in Greenfield Iowa and farm raised with horse and team, this natural born engineer would never graduate from High School but would achieve the rank of Tech Sergeant in the Army Air Corps in Europe where he won the bronze star as the crew chief of a B26. Earl came to Boulder in 1936 where he was a cabby, hauled coal, was a mechanic and eventually went into industrial sales before the war. After the war he married the love of his life Betty and went back into industrial sales. Over the course of their 65 years together they raised 1 daughter and 3 sons. He was an avid gardener with a great green thumb and a poker player to watch out for. He worked for NCAR as a machinist at the time of his retirement. They became snowbirds for many years before finally coming to roost in Longmont where he continued to be the inventor he was designed to be and the storyteller his kids and grandkids loved. His 2 brothers Ronald and Leonard, his daughter Anne and his wife Betty preceded him in death. He leaves behind 3 sons, Mike Morrison of Longmont, Pat and Colleen Morrison of Bartlesville Oklahoma, Matt and Kristi Morrison of Johnstown. 3 granddaughters, 5 grandsons and 5 great grandsons. The tremendous changes he saw during his lifetime could not possibly prepare him for what he and Betty are experiencing now. There is no memorial planned.
