Edward Michael Kage

December 3, 1957November 12, 2020

Edward Michael Kage was born December 3, 1957 in Lincoln Nebraska to Claude and Rosie (Ramirez) Kage. On November 12, 2020 Ed lost his long battle with heart disease.

He grew up east of Longmont, where he attended Mead Elementary and Jr High school. He graduated from Longmont High School in 1976, where he loved football and was named All Northern Conference. He attended classes to get his Associate Degree in Computer Science.

He worked for Longmont Rendering (National By-Products) as Plant Manager after graduating high school in Colorado, Oklahoma and Nebraska. In his later years he worked security at concerts at Red Rocks, Pepsi Center and Rockies games.

Through the years he played a lot of softball with brothers, cousins and close friends.

His greatest moment was the birth of his son Patrick with Pamela (Patrick) Kage.

Ed loved being around family where he was “UNCLE” Ed to nephews, nieces and kids he coached (even if they were not related).

He was Grandpa to Pat and Sandra’s children, Angelina, JJ, Isabel and Jeanette (a Great one at that).

He also had a very close relationship with Jennifer Whalen.

Ed will always be remembered for his love for family and food.

Ed battled heart disease most of his life and was unable to get life insurance. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to help with funeral costs. Please make checks payable to Patrick Kage and mail to: 901 Hover Ridge Circle, Longmont, CO 80501.

He is proceeded in death by his father Claude Kage Jr., Sister Patricia Schultz, Brother in law Clint Olinger.

He is survived by his mother Rosie (Ramirez) Kage, siblings Kenneth (Lisa) Kage, Donna (Rick) Frank, Claude-Buzz (Terri) Kage, Rosemary Olinger, Joseph-Joe (Jessica) Kage, Brother in law Mike Schultz and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
