
Elizabeth (Betty) Terrell of Boulder, Colorado died at her son?s residence in Boulder on August 20, 2007. She was 97.Betty was born on January 3, 1910 in Snyder, Texas to Abey Houston and Clara Lannie (Eppler) Smith. Betty married Leon H. Terrell on December 23, 1935 in Cartagena, Colombia, South America. Mr. Terrell died in 1983.Mrs. Terrell was a retired teacher who taught Spanish at Centennial Junior High School in Boulder from 1960 to 1975. Betty also did a lot of volunteer work. She was a dispatcher at Boulder Community Hospital; an interpreter of Spanish at San Juan del Centro Clinic; a Court Friend at the Boulder County Justice Center; and a presenter with the Helpmobil sponsored by the Colorado Education Association.Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Boulder, the Boulder Forum of Republican Women, and Daughters of the American Revolution.Her husband, her parents, five brothers, and four sisters preceded Betty in death. She is survived by her son Andy Terrell and his wife Jo Ellen of Boulder; four grandchildren: Lane, Jesse, Joel, and Melody; and five great grandchildren: Hannah, Andrew, Catherine, Hilton and Stanton.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 15 at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Boulder with Reverend John Hess officiating.
