Eloy Borrego

Eloy was born on June 14, 1934 in Longmont to John Borrego and Susie Rodriguez. He attended Longmont High School, but joined the U.S. Marine Corp prior to graduation. He served in Korea from 1952 to 1954. He was proud of receiving his high school diploma in 2004 through the St. Vrain Educational classes for veterans.

Eloy married Rose Padilla on June 15, 1956 in Boulder.

Eloy was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post #2601 and the American Legion Post #32. He enjoyed camping, fishing and elk hunting and was a proud member of the Raider Nation.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a son George Martinez.

Surviving are his wife of Longmont; a son John (Barbara) Borrego of Longmont; daughters Julie Garcia of Longmont; Jackie Borrego of Longmont; Valerie Warren of San Diego, California; and Ediana Sharpe of Longmont; sisters Lois (David) Trejo of Westminster; Cindy White of Federal Heights; Linda (Ubaldo) Marquez of Longmont; and Juanita Dominguez of Longmont; five grandchildren; Chris, Tunde, Lara, Angelica, and Kyle; and four great grandchildren Adiana, Zion, Karenza, and Brooke.

A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary.

A Rosary will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 3 followed by a Memorial Mass, both at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary or American Legion for the benefit of Beaver Lake.
