Elpidia Sayre Haggerty

Elpidia Sayre Haggerty, 98, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Elpidia was born on November 16, 1925, to Olympio and Teodora Sayre in Bongbong Luzuriaga, Philippines. During her early years, Elpidia met and married Bernard F. Haggerty, who served in the U.S. Navy before becoming widowed. While living in Long Beach, California, Elpidia met Keith M. Harber, a retired Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy who became her Life Companion.

Elpidia and Keith moved to Longmont, Colorado, in 1986 due to Keith's new job at Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp. During this time, Elpidia and Keith enjoyed road trips by motorcycle or camper truck.

Elpidia loved making Filipino desserts for her great-grandchildren. Her interests and hobbies included collecting and caring for the many plants in her greenhouse and home, gardening, and cooking. She enjoyed reading and collecting recipes, bingo nights with family and friends, and taking trips to Black Hawk.

Elpidia is preceded in death by her Life Companion, Keith M. Harber, her sons, Rogelio S. Reyes, Alejandro S. Reyes, and Alexander S. Reyes, and her grandson, Christopher H. Haggerty.

She is survived by her son Reynaldo S. Haggerty of General Santos City, Philippines, her grandson Brandon Haggerty(Ashley) of Longmont, CO, granddaughter Reyna S. McGarrah(Stephen) of Pittsburgh, PA, grandson Alexander Reyes Jr.(Reinelle) of Geneva, Switzerland and granddaughter Alet Reyes of Manila, Philippines. Also, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Leihana M. Haggerty, Lillian G. Haggerty, Layla R. Haggerty, Shyanne C. McGarrah, Cornelius C. Haggerty, Corinna P. Goins, and her great-great-grandchildren Amir S. and Akai K. Bryant.

A public visitation for Elpidia will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry Street, Longmont, CO 80501.
