Ernie was born in Boulder County on January 26, 1963 to the late Fred and Beatrice (Roybal) Valdez. Growing up in Longmont, Ernie was always helping people. He enjoyed fixing cars, working on odds and ends for people and spending time with family and friends.
Ernie is survived by his girlfriend, Cindy Ross of Longmont, son Justin (Rachelle) McClelland of Loveland, brothers, John (Lupe) Valdez, Robert (Cathy) Valdez, Tony (Doris) Valdez and Jay Martinez; sisters Virginia (Carlos) Murillo, Becky (George) Cordova, Irene Valdez, Teve Garfio and Josie Valdez, and a great aunt, Isabel Vasquez.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joe Valdez; sisters May Valdez, JoAnn Valdez and Carol Valdez.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2017 followed by funeral services at 3:30 p.m., both held in the Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont.
