Esther Glorene Bannick, 85, of Northglenn CO died December 9, 2018 at Longmont United Hospital. She was born June 4, 1933 in Blacklick, Ohio to Esther Belle (Ayers) and Leonard Sagar. She was a graduate of Marengo High School, where she had been voted May Queen of her school in 1950.
In 1952, Esther moved to Arizona for health reasons. In 1953, she married Lester John Bannick, a stunt pilot. She worked as a clerk typist in the 1960’s and soldered for a company that was rewiring the dashboards of jets used in the Korean war.
Esther’s hobbies were gardening and china and tole painting until macular degeneration forced her to discontinue her painting in 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are her son Daryl (Tina) Bannick of Brighton, CO and her daughter Debra (Victor) Hendrickson of Erie, CO. Her sister Kathleen Frye of Gig Harbor, WA; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren further survive her.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, December 13th at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. She will be buried beside her husband in Phoenix, Arizona.
