Born on a farm in Conway, Massachusetts on December 20, 1931, Eugenie was the daughter of Placido and Florence (Caron) Benoni. She grew up in a large household with 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Eugenie was a graduate of the former Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, Class of 1949.
Eugenie worked for several years as banker at Greenfield Savings Bank, then later became a flight attendant for Capital Airlines/United Airlines, before she married William Richard “Dick” Suits, on August 24, 1963, in Conway, Massachusetts.
After much travel due to Richard’s work, Eugenie and Richard settled in Berthoud, Colorado in August 1978 where they raised 3 boys, William “Rex”, Garey, and Corey.
As her children grew, Eugenie began to work outside of the home, being employed at the Leaning Tree Card Company and Valley Lab, then later to help her son William “Rex” run his excavation business, Gopher Excavation Inc. and was the secretary/treasurer for his business from 1984-2018.
Wherever she went, she made friendships, within her church, neighborhood, and Berthoud Community with her beautiful smile and warm personality that lasted the rest of her lifetime. Eugenie was a devoted Catholic and loved going to church, was a very hard worker, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, dining out, but more than anything found happiness with her family and friends. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont, Colorado.
