Evelyn Marie Klug

Evelyn M. Klug, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Life Care Center of Longmont, CO. She was 95. Evelyn was born on July 1, 1921 in Orleans, Nebraska to Samuel and Kea (“Kate” Dankers) McNees. She grew up on the family farm there.

On October 5, 1943, she married Kenneth Klug. They were married for 69 years before his passing in 2012. They moved to Denver in 1945 and started their family. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (David) Tuepker of Englewood, son, Gary (Ellen) Klug of Berthoud; two grandchildren, Karyn Weakliem of Denver, and Jeffrey Klug of Wellington; four granddaughters, Kea, Elaina, Isabella, and Adalyn.

Evelyn worked in the food service area for most of her working career. She was Catering Manager and Assistant Manager of Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver for many years. She loved spending time with her family and friends, who enjoyed many good meals at her table. Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers, William McNees and Normas “Bud” McNees.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 24 at Howe Mortuary Chapel, Longmont CO. A private burial will take place at Ft. Logan National Cemetery prior to the celebration. Please share condolences at www.howemortuary.com.
