

Evelyn C. Sharp of Camden, Indiana died May 4, 2007 in Longmont, CO. She was 99. Evelyn was born on December 21, 1907 in Frankfort, Indiana to Valentine Franklin Cohee and Mamie Osterday Cohee. She was raised in Indiana graduating from Camden High School. She attended Teacher?s College of Indianapolis (Madam Blakers) receiving her teaching degree. She then taught at Washington and Carrollton Townships, Carroll County, Indiana.On June 30, 1929 she married James M. Sharp in Camden. The Sharp?s lived in Camden, except for a six-year period, when they owned and operated a grocery store in Michigantown, Indiana.Evelyn was an 86-year member of the First Baptist Church of Camden and an active member of the Baptist Woman?s Missionary Circle. Her membership in the Camden Woman?s Literary Club, which founded the Camden public library, covered a period of 70 years.Preceding her in death were her husband, a sister Frances Laxton and a grandchild.Surviving are three children, Robert G. Sharp and his wife, Barbara, of Hamilton, Virginia, Bill Sharp and his wife, Peg, of Longmont, and Marcia Beckett and her husband, Mike, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a nephew, Dennis D. Laxton.Services will be held May 16, 2007 at the Cree Funeral Home, Camden, Indiana.
