Evelyn Irene Trotter

Evelyn Irene Trotter, 90, of Longmont died peacefully July 21, 2011 at the Boulder County Hospice Center in Louisville, CO. She joined her husband, Jerry Trotter, who preceded her in death in June of 2008. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent the last few years of her life at the Longmont Regent Retirement Center. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.She was born in Belgrade, NE on June 17, 1921, and graduated from Fullerton, NE high school in 1940. She married Jerry on February 4, 1941. They lived the first years of their marriage in and around Fullerton, Nebraska where Jerry worked as a lineman for several electrical companies. Then their lives became mobile and they lived in Aurora, NE, Omaha, NE, Kirkwood, MO, back to Omaha, NE, Hastings, NE and on to Brush, CO in 1954 and Longmont, CO in 1962 where they settled for many years and where Jerry became the Director of Public Utilities for the City of Longmont.Evelyn liked to sew for her daughter, and her friends. While living in Longmont, she worked seasonally and temporary jobs for IBM and in the lab at Great Western Sugar Company. She loved to help family and friends where ever needed and was greatly loved by her family and friends. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her parents, Joseph and Esther Horacek, two sisters, Baby Thelma and Phyllis Dolan of North Platte, NE and a brother Dayle Horacek of Belgrade, NE and a great-great granddaughter, Ashley Schippert.She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Schippert and her husband, Skip, of Fort Collins, CO and her son, J l and his wife, Teresa, of Longmont. Nine grandchildren, Skipper Schippert of Ft, Collins, CO, Kent, (grandson) Schippert & Marilyn Dansby of Windsor, Bryant (grandson) and Margaret Schippert of Windsor, Robyn (granddaughter) and Brian Smith of Broomfield, Mitchell Trotter of Denver, Craig (grandson) and Natalie Lord of Longmont, CO, Nathan (grandson) and Shin Trotter, stationed in Korea, Laura (granddaughter) and Jason Giles of Longmont, CO, BJ (grandson) and Nichole Julich of Greeley, and. Evelyn had 22 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Longmont Nazarene Church, 2111 Mountain View, Longmont, CO, with Pastor Roger Freels presiding. Lunch will be served by the Nazarene Church Funeral Committee.
