Fern Marie Watson

She was raised on a farm just outside of Cushing, IA with one brother, Roger Sims. On August 2nd, 1947 she married Clayton Watson. In 1971 she moved to Longmont, where she worked as a clerk and in the office of a JC Penny’s in Boulder along with a K-Mart in Longmont. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, sewing, crocheting, and traveling. When she wasn’t doing the things, she often enjoyed she spent time at the Tri-Town Baptist Church in Frederick, CO as a member.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Blanche Sims. Along with another brother Russell Sims, who had passed as an infant. Her husband Clayton F. Watson, one son Gary Watson, and one daughter Rhonda Campbell. Her granddaughter Sherri Lamaak, of Denison, IA. Her 2 great grandchildren, Karlin and Freddie Lamaak who were stillborns.

Fern is Survived by her son Russell C. Watson and wife Karlen of Dow City, IA. A brother Roger M. Sims and wife Phyllis of Denison, IA. 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Along with one stepdaughter Barbara Cleveland and her husband Joel of Israel and 2 step grandchildren. Many other friends and relatives as well.

A visitation for Fern will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Howe Mortuary & Crematory, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. Following the visitation Fern will be laid to rest at 10:00 a.m. at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery located at 620 11th Avenue, Longmont, Colorado 80501.
