Florence Purcell

Florence M. Purcell, age 91 of Longmont died Friday, September 6, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Purcell was born March 5, 1922 in Sterling, CO to John and Anna M. (Heil) Reitz. Florence was a lifelong resident of Colorado and was a member of the Lutheran Faith. She married Lowell Purcell on April 15, 1944 in Denver. Florence provided child care at New Creation Church in Longmont for many years.

Florence enjoyed many hobbies including: bowling, fishing and camping, bird watching and gardening. She had a special love for all animals.

Survivors include one son; Robert A. Purcell of Denver, and one daughter; Beverly A. Grenemyer and her husband Troy of Choutaeu, OK. Three granddaughters survive; Rebecca, Jennifer and Melanie, along with three great-grandchildren. Florence was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers; Art and Albert; two sisters; Lyra and Betty and by one grandchild; Jason Grenemyer.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at New Creation Church in Longmont with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Foothills Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the BURN YOUTH Department at New Creation Church. Howe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
